Halsbury’s Law Monthly in India from October 2

New Delhi September 30, 2007

A new magazine, Halsbury’s Law Monthly, targeted at lawyers, policy makers and analysts hits the Indian news stands on Tuesday October 2. Targeted at commercial and corporate lawyers, the magazine’s relevance extends to areas like lifestyle, retail, travel and IT that are increasingly attracting interest from the global players.

LexisNexis, global information services providers, in alliance with CyberMedia, South Asia’s specialty publishing house, said that new journal, Halsbury’s Law Monthly, aims to disseminate quality legal and business information.

By synergizing their strengths, LexisNexis and CyberMedia, will produce a superior publication eclipsing anything currently available in the market. The magazine has an eminent editorial board that includes legal luminaries like Soli J Sorabji, Pravin Anand, Lalit Bhasin, Jyoti Sagar and Diljeet Titus.

Mr. Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, received the first issue of Halsbury’s Law Journal with a sense of nostalgia and referred to its legacy of being the most reliable and trusted resource for legal practitioners all over the world. He urged the publishers to maintain the high standards of Halsbury’s and the editorial board to help attain solidarity amongst lawyers.

Mr. John Atkinson, Managing Director, LexisNexis Asia said, “Halsbury’s Law Monthly would cover a wide range of subjects from M&A, joint ventures, FDI and IPR, to corporate and tax laws. The magazine would lay special emphasis on verticals like telecom, outsourcing, insurance, IT, infrastructure, and retail.

Halsbury’s Law Monthly reinforces LexisNexis’ commitment to delivering high quality information to enable professionals to understand developments in law, and to facilitate the sharing and dissemination of knowledge and ultimately in the administration of justice itself.

Mr. Pradeep Gupta, Chairman, CyberMedia, said, “CyberMedia will bring in its expertise in the publishing arena to offer rich content from the most experienced legal professionals.”

Mr. Aalok Wadhwa, Managing Director, LexisNexis India said, “The magazine aspires to be an invaluable knowledge source for the legal community.”
