CyberMedia, (India) Limited, the 22 year old renowned specialty media house, is entering the capital market with a Public Issue of 2,822,500 Equity Shares of Rs.10/- each for cash at a premium of Rs.50/- per Share aggregating Rs. 169.35 million. The issue opens on 4th May and closes on 9th May 2005.
CyberMedia has a track record of steady growth. For the year ended March 31st 04, the consolidated turnover was Rs.58.1 Crores, EBITDA 7.7 crores, and PAT 3.7 Crores. For the first 9 Months ending Dec 31st, 2004, the turnover was 50.6 Crores, EBITDA 7.0 crores, and PAT 3.2 Crores. The EPS for 2003-04 is 5.38 and for 2004-05 is 5.96 (annualized).
Cyber Media has a de-risked business model with a balance in the print and non-print business as well as a balance between media products and media services. Cyber Media publications (which include Dataquest, PCQuest and BioSpectrum) enjoy market leadership position and reach out to 1.2 million readers and an online community of 0.7 million.
The IPO funds would be deployed across multiple initiatives. In line with its vision "to expand globally in the knowledge domain through quality media products and services" Cyber Media has planned four new projects where the IPO funds would be deployed - three of them i.e. BPO Magazine, BioSpectrum Singapore and BusinessWeek India , as part of its media business line, while the fourth - Content BPO , in its media services business.
Global Outsourcing, the BPO magazine:
The global BPO business, which is currently estimated at US$ 773 Billion, is expected to increase to US$ 1 Trillion by 2006. The Indian ITES - BPO industry is estimated to grow substantially at a CAGR of 40% to 50% over the next decade. As there is no publication servicing this area, CyberMedia proposes to address this space to foster the growth of this industry and would initially focus on the Indo-US axis with readership in both countries. "Global Outsourcing", will reach out worldwide to buyers of BPO services and would address outsourcing issues from a global perspective.
BioSpectrum Singapore:
CyberMedia also plans to take BioSpectrum, India's largest Biotechnology publication, global, with its launch in Singapore. Singapore is likely to emerge as a global hub for biomedical sciences and the Singapore government has committed over US$ 1.7 Billion in investments over the next five years. CyberMedia plans to address the growing opportunity through the launch of the publication BioSpectrum Singapore.
Business Week India:
Business Week is the largest business magazine published in the world and has licensed Cyber Media for publishing Business Week India (permission from Ministry of I&B awaited). The content of this magazine will be focused on money, technology and people, and will provide relevant blend of global and Indian content. It will be the only international business magazine to give readers a global perspective for India.
Content BPO:
The Media Services arm of CyberMedia, focused on the content BPO business in the US and European markets, is planning an upscale of its operations. The worldwide BPO market is slated to touch the Trillion Dollar mark by 2006. The Indian BPO sector revenue, which was $3.6 billion for 2003-04, is expected to grow by 40% in 2004-05. The content BPO work is a significant portion of this business estimated at around $500 million. CyberMedia's media services arm has planned geographical diversification in the rapidly growing markets.
The equity shares of the company are proposed to be listed on NSE and BSE. Khandwala Securities Ltd. are the sole Lead Managers to the Issue.
