Chandigarh, September 12, 2011: How the tech small and medium businesses (SMBs) can scale up their operations to tap newer opportunities in the domestic and international markets, would be the focus for the 7th edition of eRevolution 2011, the signature annual event of the upper north.
The event is scheduled to be held on 23-24 September at Hotel JW Marriott, and would be hosted by the Chandigarh Administration and Punjab Government with the support of NASSCOM, STPI, TiE, PanIIT, SPIC-IT, and Indian Angels Network.
The Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh, Shri Shivraj V. Patil, shall inaugurate eRevolution 2011 with large number of eminent speakers to address the theme “SMBs: Time to Grow Big”.
After big Indian software companies’ remarkable performance in the global tech markets, the immediate objective is to promote the tech SMBs in the country and engage them actively with other stakeholders, especially research and development organizations for an inclusive growth.
The highlight of this year’s event would be an ‘Innovation Walk Through’ by local companies to showcase the innovative ideas and how these are impacting the world, besides bringing together SMBs from hardware, software, services, and mobile apps segments to deliberate on the imperatives for growth.
eRevolution has become a unique joint initiative of various stakeholders in the electronics and IT domain including the governments, the entrepreneurs, the academics, angel investors, manufacturers, and organizations like Nasscom, TiE, STPI together to develop an enabling ecosystem for the growth of this region.
The region has all the ingredients of evolving into a knowledge hub with numerous research organizations like CSIO, NIPER, and technical institutes of repute including IIT-Ropar, ISB Mohali, to name just a few ensuring availability of highly skilled manpower.
eRevolution2011 would also highlight SMBs aspirations to grow big, building capabilities, current challenges and opportunities, with a large number of eminent speakers to interact with the participants.
eRevolution was conceived by Cybermedia along with various other stakeholders to create a roadmap for the IT/ITeS industry to grow in the region by encouraging entrepreneurship. |
