Greenpeace and CyberMedia urge the ICT sector to take green pledge

Singapore July 15, 2011: The India edition of the world’s oldest technology publication Technology Review has won the Asian publishing honour for the best use of design at the recently concluded Asian Publishing Convention in Bangkok to a standing ovation from delegates from 17 countries.

The Asian Publishing Awards recognize best publishing practices in Asia incorporating the Asian Magazine Management, Asian Book Publishing, and Asian Corporate Communications Awards. This year 63 entries from 29 companies representing nine countries vied for the top honours.

It is heartening to see an international jury acknowledge Technology Review’s editorial efforts to tell the hard-to-capture emerging technologies story vividly. Great photo essay subjects from the emerging technology arena when treated well are a delight for our growing readers across Asia,” said E. Abraham Mathew, chief editor of Technology Review India.

Technology Review India is published by Technology Review Inc., an independent media company of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US and Asia’s largest specialty publisher CyberMedia. Published for first time in 1899 for the students of MIT, Technology Review is the oldest technology magazine in the world.

Technology Review aims to promote the understanding of emerging technologies and focuses on analyzing their commercial, social, and political impact.

MIT Technology Review’s Emerging conference -- EmTech --held at the MIT Campus since 2001 and in India since 2009 is a huge draw with the Technologists, Researchers, CXOs, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and financiers in the Computing, Web, Communications, Energy, Materials Science and life sciences besides other transformative technologies.

MIT’s Technology Review Inc. and CyberMedia are mulling bringing the EmTech conference to one of the Asia Pacific countries soon. Singapore is among the destinations in the short list.
